I saw David Grisman at a free show in Salt Lake City last night. he looks and sounds great, and it was great to get a healthy dose of some Dawg Music. For the encore he got his band and the warmup band, Old School freight Train, on stage for a jam session. he mentioned that 10 years ago he had to cancel a show at the same venue because of the passing of Jerry garcia, and dedicated the song to Jerry. It was very nice and touching. Also as an aside for you deadheads, Bluegrass/Old & In the Way fans, he also mentioned that Vassar Clements is very ill, so please send some positive energy that way.

I remember when he canceled that show...I had tix and was saddened. Not not as saddened as to the reason why. I had to leave early because my girl's little on got in the pool and got a little wet to stay.

I knew he couldn't do a show that close to the anniversary without doing something special. It was a damn good show.

Don't forget about Keller Willams and Zilla on the 25th of august. Nothing like killer live music for free: Galactic, Grisman, and Williams...
